Although his approval rating has increased, Premier Scott Moe has fallen behind some of his counterparts in other provinces.

Moe has traditionally been one of the most popular premiers in the country, but that distinction now belongs to New Brunswick's Blaine Higgs. According to the latest Angus Reid poll, Higgs now has an 80 per cent approval rating, which is an increase of 32 points.

Higgs is followed by Quebec's Francois Legault at 77 per cent, B.C.'s John Horgan at 71 per cent, and Ontario's Doug Ford at 69 per cent. Ford's popularity has increased by 38 points. It is the first time since he has been elected that Ford has had a majority approval rating.

Premier Moe follows Ford with a 65 per cent approval rating, representing an increase of seven points over the last poll.

Angus Reid attributes the rise in approval ratings to how these leaders have responded to the COVID-19 crisis.

The only premiers with unfavourable ratings are Alberta's Jason Kenney (48 per cent) and Manitoba's Brian Pallister (47 per cent).
