The Moose Jaw Police Service recently seized nearly 13 grams of Fentanyl during a drug bust and ensured the deadly substance will not have the opportunity to harm or kill residents.

Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle on the 700 block of Thatcher Drive East during the July 15-16 weekend and, after investigating the situation, arrested the vehicle’s driver and laid charges of operating a conveyance while impaired.

During the arrest, police also seized 12.5 grams of Fentanyl with a street value of roughly $3,700, methamphetamine, an operational scale, various household chemicals believed to be “cutting agents,” and $2,000 in cash.

As a result of seizing the drugs, police also charged the individual with possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

The individual is expected to appear in court soon.
