A security system and some quick thinking helped stop a crime.
On December 20 at approximately 4:35 a.m., the Moose Jaw Police Service responded to a break and enter in progress at an east side commercial business.
The business owner had been alerted to the situation by a security system that provided remote viewing of the crime in progress.
Police, including the K9 unit, arrived on the scene where they located and arrested two individuals for the break and enter in progress.
Police credit the business owner with notifying the police so quickly. That action, coupled with a speedy response time, prevented any loss of property.
Jared Caplette and Todd Gleim, both of Moose Jaw, have been charged.
Caplette is facing additional Criminal Code charges including possession of break-in tools, as well as breaching his release conditions.
Both Caplette and Gleim have been released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in court in April 2021.
