Police arrest Alberta man with $8,500 of cocaine

Moose Jaw Police Service have arrested one Alberta man following a search of two Moose Jaw residences that uncovered a large amount of cocaine and cash. 

As part of an ongoing drug investigation, a search warrant on the 1200 block of Redland Avenue on Sept. 3 led authorities to a subsequent search on the 1300 block of Hochelaga St. W. on Sept. 4.

Elias Hassan, of Alberta, was arrested after police found a sum of money and approximately $8,500 worth of cocaine in the residences. Hassan also has several active warrants for his arrest and several breach of court orders. 

Current charges include Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5,000. 

Hassan will be held until his court date, while police continue to investigate. Further charges could be laid.
