MOOSE JAW — A voluntary water-conservation advisory put in place on Sept. 3 remains active even as officials work to restore supply following a power outage at the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant.

City officials say the outage at the BPWTP led to a reduction in water supply to Moose Jaw residents, prompting the advisory aimed at preserving available resources until the situation improves.

Residents are urged to help by taking steps such as turning off taps while grooming, showering instead of bathing if possible, using washing machines and dishwashers only when full, holding off on watering lawns and gardens, postponing filling hot tubs, pools or ponds, and delaying vehicle washing until the advisory is lifted.

The city noted that it, too, will limit water use to what is necessary for health and safety. Updates will be provided as soon as more information is available, and residents can contact the city with any questions.
