Christmas will be a little more joyous for children in the pediatric war at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital, thanks to a donation from the Friendly City Optimist Club.
The club visited the hospital recently and made a big donation of toys and books that children of all ages will be able to enjoy.
Lynann Pethick, the project chairwoman for the club, made the donation, while hospital staff Tiana Tymko, Brenda Nicholls and Bailey Kohler were on hand to receive the items.
The Optimist Club has conducted this project since 1986.
