No new COVID-19 cases recorded in Saskatchewan today

With the next phase of the Re-Open Saskatchewan plan about to begin, the province is reporting no new COVID-19 cases.

As of May 18, there are 592 cases in Saskatchewan, including 131 active cases.
 
Eleven more people have recovered, bringing the provincial total to 455.
 
There are currently five people in hospital, including three in intensive care in Saskatoon.

Of the 592 cases in the province:

  • 139 cases are travellers;
  • 321 are community contacts (including mass gatherings);
  • 69 have no known exposures; and
  • 63 are under investigation by local public health.

On a regional level, 219 of the cases are from the Far North, 164 are from the Saskatoon area, 106 from the North, 76 from the Regina area, 15 from the South, and 12 from the Central region.

Six deaths have been reported to date.
 
A total of 41,159 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.
