The Moose Jaw Giants saw their Rambler Park Fastball League season come to an end on Thursday night.

The Golden Hawks rolled to a 16-1 victory in the ‘B’ side semifinal at Kaplan Field, knocking the local squad from contention and this weekend’s league championship tournament.

The news isn’t all bad for local teams, though, as the Moose Jaw Canadians are still in the hunt and will face the Earl Grey Rockets in the ‘A’ final on Saturday morning. The winner will advance to play for the title and loser dropping to the ‘B’ final against Golden.

The Canadians (11-2-0) and Earl Grey (10-3-1) finished one-two in the regular-season standings and split their two meetings, with the Rockets taking a 5-4 win way back on July 9 in Regina and the Canadians prevailing 9-1 in the rematch at Lyle Helland Ball Diamond on Aug. 11.

The Canadians earned their spot in the contest with a 4-2 victory over the Hawks back on Sept. 2.

Things will wrap up for the season with the ‘A’ final at 11 a.m. on Saturday, ‘B’ final at 1:30 p.m. and championship game at 4 p.m.
