Moose Jaw All-Stars begin fundraising campaign

Local team holding pizza night, barbecue, bottle drop off as preparations begin for Little League Canadian Championship
The Moose Jaw Major AAA All-Stars have done their part, now they’re hoping their community will give them a helping hand.

The All-Stars are currently preparing for the Little League Canadian Championship beginning on Aug. 1 in Ancaster, Ont. after claiming the Prairies title during the July 14 weekend.

To that end, they have two event fundraisers coming up as well as one that will be taking place from now until they leave for Ontario.

First, the ongoing one – the Major AAA All-Stars have a Drop and Go account set up at Sarcan for anyone with recyclable bottles and the like who wish to make a donation. Simply register under MJ Major AAA, drop off your bag and voila, you’ve helped out the team!

The All-Stars will also be holding a barbecue at Co-Op locations from 11 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 27 before inviting the community and surrounding area a send-off party at Boston Pizza on Monday, July 29.

That event runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with everyone invited to meet the players and coaches and wish them well at nationals while maybe gathering an autograph or two.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children, including an eight-inch pizza and Caesar salad or any meal from the kids menu. Tickets must be purchased in advance, contact Michele at 306-631-9591 for more information.
