Accused of attempted murder, Riley Morgan Mills-Miller has been released from custody on several conditions, including having no contact with the men involved in the alleged incident.

Mills-Miller, 21, appeared in Moose Jaw provincial court on Oct. 7, where Judge Daryl Rayner agreed to release the man as long as he followed strict release requirements. The Crown also agreed to the release, considering since Mills-Miller will have to live with his mother.

Some of the requirements that Mills-Miller must follow include keeping the peace and being of good behaviour, appearing in court when required, reporting to a bail supervisor, maintaining a curfew of 10 p.m. to 7 p.m., coming to the door when police check on him, not consuming or possessing drugs or alcohol or being in places that sell those products, providing a breath or urine sample when asked, having no contact with two men involved in the incident or being within 50 metres of their home, work or school, and not possessing weapons.

According to a police news release, Moose Jaw Police Service and EMS were called to the 500 block of Athabasca St. East about an injured male on Sept. 30. Upon arrival, police found the male had been assaulted with a weapon. He was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police later issued an updated news release saying they had issued an arrest warrant for attempted murder for Mills-Miller, who eventually turned himself in.

Mills-Miller’s next court date is Wednesday, Oct. 28.
