MOOSE JAW — The City of Moose Jaw advises residents that the playground at Knights of Columbus Park (1100-Clifton Ave.) will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, Aug. 11, for the
installation of a new playground structure as part of the city’s Playground Renewal Program.
The playground and adjacent area will be fenced off from Aug. 11 through Sept.5, The swing sets on the east side of the park will remain accessible.
Originally installed in 1994, the playground has reached the end of its life expectancy. The new structure will feature fully accessible play components, engineered wood fiber surfacing, new edging, a garbage receptacle, benches and a picnic table.
The Playground Renewal Program, initiated in 2021, provides annual capital funding to replace and renew public playgrounds across the city. In 2025, the following projects are scheduled:
- Knights of Columbus Park – Full playground replacement
- Veteran’s Peace Park and 1996 Summer Games Park – New swing sets
- Spring Creek Park – New picnic table and garbage receptacle
- 4th Avenue NW and Oxford Street Playground – Replace playground edging
The program’s objectives are to ensure safe, inclusive, and accessible playgrounds for all ages and abilities, while enhancing the overall “play” experience in Moose Jaw neighbourhoods.
The City thanks residents for their patience while these upgrades are completed. Find more information about the Playground Renewal Program here.
