Do you know of a local heritage property that deserves recognition? Is there someone working to preserve or promote heritage who deseves to be in the spotlight?
The Heritage Advisory Committee will soon present their annual heritage awards and nominations are now being accepted.
There are six categories, including stewardship, restoration, adaptive reuse, advocacy/heritage education, sympathetic new construction, and heritage tradespeople/craftspeople. For a full description and more information about the nomination process, visit the city’s website.
The deadline for nominations is Jan. 8. Nominations should be submitted to the city’s clerks department on the second floor of city hall. Nominations should provide a brief explanation as to why the property or individual is worthy of consideration. Contact the clerks department at 306-694-4426 for more information.
The awards will be presented during the Citizen and Group of the Year Awards, which will be presented at the Heritage Inn on Jan. 28. Nominations for those awards are now being accepted as well. Tickets are available through the Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce.
