Fire causes more than $200K in damages

The fire was started by an overheated BBQ that ignited

Windy conditions caused problems yesterday as the Moose Jaw Fire Department battled a fire on South Hill.

Just before 5 p.m. on May 30, both the police and the fire department responded to a call on the 100 block of Iroquois St. East.

It was determined that an overheated barbecue had erupted in flames. This ignited the back portion of the residence.

Wind then spread the fire to the residence next door, as well as to a camper in the rear of the yard.

Damages are estimated to exceed $200,000.

The homeowner suffered minor injuries.
