Early morning fire causes $200K in damages

Everyone is safe after an early morning fire on the east side of the city.

Just after 1 a.m., police, EMS, and the Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to a fire call on the 400 block of Athabasca St. East.

The fire started on a stove in one of the building's suites. Police were able to remove the occupant of the suite where the fire started.

The remainder of the suites were evacuated.

EMS treated one person at the scene for smoke inhalation and transported them to hospital.

Damage is estimated at $200,000.

The fire is not considered suspicious in nature. No further details have been released.
