Coteau Street West work expands Aug. 5

Area businesses remain open during construction and access will be available via sidewalks and temporary walkways.

MOOSE JAW — The City of Moose Jaw advises that Phase 10 of the Infrastructure Renewal Program (including water main replacement) is progressing as the project reaches week 13.

Phase 10 includes the replacement of approximately 1.4 kilometers of cast iron pipe and 700 metres of feeder main at the following locations:

  • Coteau Street W from 8th Avenue SW to 4th Avenue SW
  • 6th Avenue SW from Coteau Street W to Grandview Street W
  • 4th Avenue SW from Coteau Street W to Duffield Street
  • Fairford Street W from Main Street N to 4th Avenue NW

Construction continues on the 200 and 300 blocks of Fairford Street W, with the 100 block of Fairford Street W currently open to local traffic only. The intersections at 2nd Avenue NW, 3rd Avenue NW, and 4th Avenue NW will remain closed to traffic until further notice.

The City reminds residents that all area businesses remain open during construction and access will be available via sidewalks and temporary walkways.

Work is also underway on Coteau Street W from 4th Avenue SW to 5th Avenue SW, with the 4th Avenue SW and 5th Avenue SW intersections currently closed.

Tuesday, Aug. 5, will see the expansion of work on Coteau Street W, with Coteau Street W to be closed from the 400 through 700 blocks. Additional intersections will be closed at this time, including 6th Avenue SW and 7th Avenue SW. The 8th Avenue SW intersection will remain open.

Bus stops along the north side of Coteau Street W will be closed between 4th Ave SW and 7th Ave SW for Route No. 4 Westmount. Please read bus stop signage in these locations to find the next closest available stop.

Drivers are reminded to obey all temporary traffic signage and exercise caution in construction zones to keep everyone safe. No more #NotoriouslyClose calls.
