City hall wants to fill 25 spots on municipal advisory boards, committees

The deadline to apply is noon on Friday, March 18.

City hall is now accepting applications from residents who might be interested in taking an active role on one or more municipal advisory boards and committees.

There are eight boards or committees that residents can join, with 25 vacancies to fill:

  • Cultural diversity advisory committee: two citizens-at-large vacancies
  • Parks, recreation and facilities advisory committee: one citizen-at-large vacancy and one youth-at-large (16 to 23) vacancy 
  • Public works, infrastructure and environmental advisory committee: one senior-at-large (over age 55) vacancy, one youth-at-large (16 to 23) vacancy and one citizen representative who is First Nation or Metis 
  • Special needs advisory committee: seven citizens-at-large vacancies
  • Youth advisory committee: one home-school student who lives in Moose Jaw, one student rep from an accredited distance-learning school who lives in Moose Jaw, and two youths-at-large (18 to 25) representatives from schools not represented on the committee
  • Development appeals board: two citizens-at-large vacancies 
  • Moose Jaw Municipal Airport Authority: one citizen-at-large who is from Moose Jaw
  • Public art committee: four citizens-at-large vacancies 

Residents can obtain application forms and additional information about the boards and committees from the City of Moose Jaw’s website at www.moosejaw.ca or by contacting the city clerk’s office on the second floor at 228 Main Street North, Moose Jaw, Sask., S6H 3J8, or calling 306-694-4424.

Residents can also submit their applications online via the city’s website, by mail to the city clerk’s office, or by email to [email protected].
