Residents in northwest Moose Jaw will have to make due without water for another couple of hours as the City of Moose Jaw continues to fix a broken water main.

The municipality plans to shut off the water to customers from 1:30 to 4:30 this afternoon as it repairs a leaking water valve. The issue first arose Thursday after a water main ruptured on the 1400 and 1500 blocks of Hochelaga and Caribou streets west. The break affected roughly 500 properties.

A water trailer was brought in for residents while crews worked on fixing the water main.

More information is expected later this afternoon about the situation.
