MOOSE JAW — The City of Moose Jaw advises residents that seven Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) pedestrian crossings are scheduled for installation this year, due to funding received from the SGI Provincial Traffic Safety Fund Grant Program.
In 2025, the City has received a combined $200,000 towards seven RRFB enhanced pedestrian crossings through two rounds of grant funding, with locations including:
- William Grayson School – Caribou Street and 8th Avenue NW
- Sunningdale School – Wood Lily Drive and Thorn Crescent
- Prince Arthur School – Athabasca Street and 7th Avenue NE
- St. Agnes School – Oxford Street and 3rd Avenue NW
- Main Street and MacDonald Street
- Optimist Park – Lillooet Street and 5th Avenue SW
- 13th Ave NW – south of Grace Street
Starting on Monday, Aug. 11, the city’s contractor will undertake hydro excavation to create holes and will place concrete piles at these locations in preparation for installation of the RRFBs.
Installation of RRFB units at the five listed school locations, as well as Main Street and MacDonald Street, are expected to be completed later this week, with the remaining two RRFB installations expected to occur later in September.
There will be parking lane closures while work is happening in these areas. Drivers are reminded to obey all temporary traffic signage and exercise caution in work areas to keep everyone safe. No more #NotoriouslyClose calls.
If you have a concern, please use the ‘Report an Issue’ function on the City’s website or the free City app.
