Moose Square Park, on the 600 block of Stadacona Street West, is the crown jewel of this year's Playground Renewal Program, with a full replacement of the playground's structures and the addition of a few new options for energetic children.

Additions to Moose Square amenities include a merry-go-round with a safety net, a horizontal monkey bar, an expression swing for toddlers, three new benches, a new garbage bin, a new picnic table, and accessible pathways throughout the site.

The city is currently working with EDS Group Inc. to develop a complete 10-year plan with guidelines, priorities, and recommendations for the Parks and Rec department.

Consultation open houses were held on Sept. 20 to incorporate suggestion from the public into the plan.

A complete summary of the Master Plan progress to date is available from parksmasterplan.com/moosejaw.

Other completed 2022 projects under the playground renewal program are:

  • New wooden playground edging at Happy Valley Park
  • New bench and trash bin at Keith Crescent Park
  • New pic-a-nic table and trash bin at Iron Bridge Park
