Canucks win again, first-place showdown with Prairie Dogs Sunday

Weather-shortened 5-3 win over Lumsden Cubs sets stage for battle with fellow Baseball Regina 11U AA league-leaders
The Moose Jaw Canucks did their job on Thursday night.

Now they’ll have a chance to face-off against the Moose Jaw Prairie Dogs for first place in the Baseball Regina 11-and-under AA league standings.

The Canucks had an inside-the-park home run from Ramsey Thompson to go along with a solid showing on the mound from Reid Weiss as they went on to a 5-3 weather-shortened victory over the Lumsden Cubs in league action at Vanstone Diamond.

They saw their record improve to 13-1 with the victory, and will take on the 12-2 Prairie Dogs on Sunday at 5:45 p.m. back at Vanstone.

The Canucks won the most recent meeting between the two squads 15-3 back on Aug. 3, leaving both squads looking for bragging rights Sunday.

The Prairie Dogs won their most recent contest 22-7 over the Regina Pacers.
