Canucks endure tough loss in 15-and-under AAA baseball action

White Butte cranks out three home runs on way to 14-3 victory at Swarbirck Diamond
The Moose Jaw 15-and-under AAA Canucks have been playing better baseball as of late, but every once in a while you’re going to have one of those days.

After winning three straight one-run games in Baseball Regina action, the Canucks dropped a 14-3 decision to the White Butte Broncos at Swarbrick Diamond on Saturday afternoon.

The Broncos wasted little time getting things going, as their lead-off hitter reached on an error and Ryoen Walker promptly gave his team a 2-0 lead with a two-run home run. Kellen Muichead tacked on another round-tripper before the inning was over and White Butte led 5-0 before the Canucks stepped to the plate.

Javin Boynton hit a two-run home run for Moose Jaw in the bottom of the first, but that would be one of the few highlights on the day for the Canucks.

White Butte led 6-3 through three and added four runs in the fourth before tacking on a pair in the fifth and sixth.

Boynton and Owen Csada each had two hits in the game.

Walker hit another home run in the sixth and finished the game 4-for-4 with three runs scored and five runs batted in.

Csada, Nathan Pisio and Max Simmons all saw action on the mound, with only seven of the Broncos’ runs earned.

Moose Jaw now has won four of their last six to sit at 6-10 and tied for sixth place in the nine-team league.

They’re back in action Wednesday, July 28 when they host the White Butte Broncos (10-4) at Swarbrick Diamond. Game time is 6 p.m.
