The Business Women of Moose Jaw (BWMJ), a non-profit networking and leadership group known for the once-annual PRISM Awards and monthly lunch-and-learns, is announcing a relaunch with promises of new perks and an "elevated" membership experience.
The group has a new executive leadership after former leaders such as city councillor Crystal Froese decided last April to pass the baton. Strong Studio owner Kyra Klassen is president, with Cara Wray, a Strong Studio employee, as vice-president, and entrepreneurship author Gina Fink as treasurer.
The relaunch breakfast is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 18 from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at Taste Patisserie by Katrina, 11 River Street West. Klassen and her fellow executive promise in their announcement that the relaunch will breathe new life into the organization with enhanced perks and 'exciting surprises'.
Membership in the group is $75 per year, which supports BWMJ programming and the PRISM Awards. The monthly lunches typically have an additional cost — the relaunch breakfast is $25 per person.
Tickets are available through the BWMJ Facebook page at facebook.com/BusinessWomenMooseJaw.
The last time the PRISM Awards (standing for Perseverance, Role model, Influential, Successful, and Mentor) were held was in 2020, before the pandemic severely disrupted activities. The PRISM gala had previously been held annually since 2013 and served a dual purpose as a fundraiser for the Moose Jaw Transition House shelter, raising over $100,000 as of 2020.
BWMJ luncheons bring local female leaders, such as officers and enlisted from 15 Wing, successful business owners, executives, and entrepreneurs, elected officials from all levels of government, and more to share their experiences, inspirations, and best practices with attendees.
