There are no reported injuries and everyone at the plant is out safely. Police and EMS are on site just in case, and the fire department has several vehicles and crews working to extinguish the blaze.
Although there is plenty of smoke, no flames are visible from the structure. A worker at the plant who was waiting in his car for news said that the fire may have started in the dehairing section.
After workers at the plant were unable to extinguish the fire on their own, the fire department was called.
