Brandt Industries issues statement about death of Moose Jaw employee

Brandt Industries has issued a statement after one of its workers died following an incident at its Lancaster Road shop on Aug. 16.

"On the afternoon of Aug. 16, 2023, a work-related incident occurred at Brandt’s Moose Jaw manufacturing site involving a third-party crane company that has resulted in the death of a Brandt employee. The worker was a supervisor at Brandt’s Moose Jaw location and was a valued member of the Brandt Family for nine years," the company said in a news release.

"Brandt has extended its deepest condolences to the worker’s family and is co-ordinating grief counsellors to aid employees in this especially difficult time. The exact cause of the incident is unknown at this time and the incident is under investigation by both Brandt and Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety.

"Out of respect for the family and due to the ongoing investigation, Brandt will not be commenting further at this time."
