MOOSE JAW — Bobbi and Kirk Reynaud were nominated by The City of Moose Jaw and the Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce as Moose Jaw’s “Notoriously Good Neighbours” for April.
The pair were nominated by their neighbours, Kevyn and Desiree Gadd, who described them as friendly and helpful. Desiree shared how the Reynauds have always supported them, whether it was helping with their dogs, taking care of their oldest child during a medical crisis or participating in their Christmas decorating contest.
A recent event prompted Desiree's nomination for the Reynauds.
“I recently fell in front of my home and very clearly had broken my leg, “Gadd said.
“He immediately rushed to my aide, held me up, called 911, called my husband, moved my vehicle. (Kirk) distracted my toddler and helped load me into the ambulance since the EMTS needed help. I don't know what I would have done without him; I had gone into complete shock. After I returned home from my surgery, I couldn't climb my stairs to get into my home. Kirk and his son Jesse helped me jump the stairs into my home.”
Additionally, Kirk and Bobbi cleared the Gadds' sidewalk of ice and snow, enabling Desiree to use her wheelchair. This was especially helpful as her husband has heart issues, and strenuous tasks like shovelling snow can be difficult for him.
As an official “Notoriously Good Neighbours”, the Reynauds were awarded gift certificates to Tunnels of Moose Jaw, a token of appreciation for their contributions to the community.
Moose Javians can nominate their Notoriously Good Neighbour by using the Report An Issue feature on MooseJaw.ca or the free City of Moose Jaw app.
