5 new COVID-19 cases, including 1 in the south

There are five new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, as of July 15.

Three of the new cases are in the Central region, one is in the Saskatoon area, and one is in the South.
 
There are now 881 reported cases. Currently, there are 75 active cases, including 18 active cases in the South.  
 
There are now eight people in hospital. This includes six people who are receiving inpatient care — five in Saskatoon and one in the South. Two are in intensive care — one in Saskatoon and one in the South.

Six more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 791 recoveries.
 
Of the 881 cases in the province:

  • 179 cases are travellers;
  • 497 are community contacts (including mass gatherings);
  • 132 have no known exposures; and
  • 73 are under investigation by local public health.

On a regional level, 339 of the cases are from the Far North, 200 are from the Saskatoon area, 120 from the North, 85 from the Regina area, 84 from the South, and 53 from the Central region.

Fifteen deaths have been reported to date.
 
A total of 76,694 COVID‐19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.
