162 new COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths reported, 119 recoveries

Five Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. The deaths were reported in the 80-plus age group from the Regina (3), Saskatoon (1), and South East (1) zones.

That brings the total number of deaths in the province to 385.

There are 162 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Feb. 27, 2021.

The new cases are located in the Regina (52), Far North West (27), Saskatoon (23), Central East (18), North West (13), North East (9), South Central (7), Far North East (5), North Central (3), and South East (1) zones. 

All seven of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Four cases are pending residence information.  

Nine previously reported cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North Central (3), Regina (3), Far North East (1), North West (1), and South Central (1) zones.

There are now 28,506 reported cases, including 1,548 active cases.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 152 (12.4 new cases per 100,000).  

There were 5,211 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 75,501. To date, this is the highest one-day total for vaccine delivery in the province.

The 5,211 doses were administered in the Central East (1,202), North West (918), North Central (869), South West (676), South East (570), Central West (403), Regina (286), Saskatoon (254), and Far North West (33) zones. Multiple data corrections were made on Feb. 24 and 25 in the Regina, North West, North Central, North East, Central West, and South West zones.

One hundred and fifty-one people are in hospital. One hundred and thirty-five people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (53), Regina (36), North Central (13), North West (11), Central East (7), Far North West (5), South East (4), Far North East (2), South Central (2), North East (1), Central West (1). Sixteen people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (9), Regina (6), and North West (1).

One hundred and nineteen more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 26,573 recoveries.

There were 2,647 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Feb. 26. To date, 574,040 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
