The Saskatchewan Roughriders selected Canadian quarterback Kurtis Rourke in the third round, 25th overall during the 2025 CFL Draft.

The 24-year-old Rourke completed 69.4 percent of his passes for 3,042 yards with 29 touchdowns against five interceptions during his one season with the Hoosiers in 2024. He led Indiana to an 11-2 record and spot in the College Football Playoff while earning second-team All-Big Ten honours and finishing ninth in Heisman Trophy voting.

The Oakville, ON native performed well while playing on a torn ACL he re-injured in training camp leading into the season. He also broke his thumb partway through the season which caused him to have surgery and miss one game.

Rourke started his NCAA career at Ohio University, taking over the starting QB role after his brother Nathan graduated. He completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 7,651 yards with 50 touchdowns versus 16 interceptions while rushing 232 times for 828 yards and 11 scores over five seasons. The six-foot-four, 220-pound pivot was named the Mid-American Conference’s Most Valuable Player in 2022. That was the same year he initially tore his ACL.

The 24-year-old was selected in the seventh round, 227th overall during the 2025 NFL Draft.
