Collectively, producers across the province have 93 per cent of this year’s crop combined. Unfortunately, some areas still have more work to do. According to the crop report, farmers will attempt to take off the remaining crop before winter sets in, although it is likely that some of the crop will be left until spring.

The east-central region has the most crop remaining in the field with 83 per cent combined. The southeast and northwest regions are at 94 per cent, while the southwest and west-central regions sit at 97 at per cent, and the northeast region at 98 per cent combined.

Crop yields vary greatly across the province; some areas have reported average to above average yields. Quality is below average for almost all crops.

Cattle producers have indicated that they have adequate winter feed supplies.

Farmers who are finding the challenges of this year’s harvest difficult can contact the Farm Stress Line at 1-800-667-4442.
