Students who will be enterting an agriculture-related post-secondard program can now apply for the 2020 Saskatchewan Agriculture Student Scholarship Program.
“Canada’s youth play a critical role in the continued growth and prosperity of the agriculture sector,” said federal Agriculture and Agri-Food Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau in a press release. “Our government is proud to support initiatives such as the Saskatchewan Agriculture Student Scholarship that provide young student leaders with the boost they need to succeed in the agriculture sector.”
“Our industry offers unique and exciting opportunities for our province’s youth,” added Agriculture Minister David Marit. “Careers in agriculture are rewarding and challenging as we continue down a path of technological advancement and environmental sustainability.”
Students can submit a creative three-minute video or a 1,000-word essay sharing their food story.
One scholarship worth $4,000 will be awarded. Three other students will receive scholarships of $2,000.
The deadline for applications is March 1, 2020.
This award is funded through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, a five-year $388 million investment in strategic initiatives by the federal and provincial governments.
