MARAYA LYN WEISE
June 25th, 1991 – November 20th, 2023
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Maraya Lyn Weise aged 32 years of Moose Jaw, SK, on Monday, November 20th, 2023 after a courageous battle with acute leukemia. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Beverley; great-grandparents: Tom and Juanita, Stan and Doris; and brother, Sebatian. Maraya is survived by her mother, Joleen (Rob); brothers, Harley and Thomas; father, Lee; grandparents: Lorne, and Pauline (Ron); sisters: Raven, Tatum, and Elizabeth; aunt, Paula (Jamie) and cousins, Shalynne and Tylor. Maraya was born in Estevan, SK and moved with her family to Surrey, BC where she grew up and had many friends, including her life-long friend Krystal. In 2007, she, her mother, and younger brother moved to Moose Jaw where she made so many more friends. Maraya loved animals of all kinds and had many cats and unique animals throughout her life. Halloween was Maraya’s favourite holiday and she loved handing out goody bags to the kids and seeing their costumes. Maraya made her own unique costumes as she had a passion for the horror film industry and was masterful in creating and applying special effects make-up, a talent most of us only see in the movies. Maraya also hosted a few online podcasts giving instructions and having discussions involving special effects makeup.
A Celebration of Maraya’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 561 Home St W, Moose Jaw, SK. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Maraya’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.
