ROSELINE (ROSE) WARD

January 5th, 1942 - July 15th, 2019

It is with heavy hearts the family of Rose Ward announce her passing on Monday, July 15th, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.  She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Marjorie Bruynzeel; brothers, Charles and Gerard Bruynzeel; sister-in-law, Alma Bruynzeel; brother-in-law, Thomas Fraser Ogilvie; nephew, Ron Ogilvie; and Glen’s parents, Lloyd and Luella Ward.  Left to cherish Rose’s memory are her beloved husband, Glen Ward; sisters, Kathleen Ogilvie and Coralie Ann Wallace (John); nieces: Marna Meriam (Dale), Bev Apostle, Sherry Meriam (Kevin), Debbie Meriam (Bruce), Jackie Grandel (Dave), Deanna Ogilvie, Carol Seaberly, and Kim Hamilton (Tom); nephews: Doug Bruynzeel, Peter Bruynzeel (Kristi), Kerry Ogilvie (Deidre), and Brian Wallace (Julia); step-children: Bonnie Johnson (Dale), Scott Ward (Cheri), and Leeann Waite (Lindsay); step-grandchildren: Shawn (Marla, Kennedy), Ryan (Becky, Rowen, Layla), Aaron (Megan), Morgan (Britt), Joel (Sarah), Jason, and Charmane; great-nephews and nieces: Chris (Seohwa), Jackson, John (Stephanie, Wyatt, Autumn), Brody (Shelby), Keegan and Naomi; brothers-in-law, Gordon (Marj) and Gene (Rolene); as well as numerous long distance cousins, great-nephews and nieces; special friends, Christi Adams and Janice Caven; and Rose’s Fur Babies, Jasper and Tiger.  Rose was raised with her 4 siblings on the Bruynzeel family farm located between Drinkwater and Belle Plaine, SK.  She loved riding horses.  She attended school in Drinkwater 4½ miles from the farm, and then into Moose Jaw, SK for high school where she won awards for her typing.  Rose worked in Regina from 1959 to 1967.  After a 6 week European trip, she returned to work for SaskTel in Saskatoon, Swift Current and Moose Jaw, working numerous positions including a Line-Pullman.  Rose loved spending time with family and friends.  She had lots of wonderful vacations in BC at the cottages on Shuswap Lake and later the family reunion at Pixie Beach.  After retirement she moved to Kelowna, BC to be close to her Mom after her dad passed away.  There she attended Culinary School, and later she moved back to Saskatchewan.  She took a Cosmetology Course as she enjoyed pampering people.  Rose loved going to dances, and enjoyed traveling.  In her younger years she went to Russia, Austria for Skiing, and Holland to see special friends Jos Duin and family where they toured the Netherlands to see where the family roots were.  She loved cooking and baking for friends and family.  Rose went to high school with Glen but had lost touch.  She met up with him again at a party and they became a couple in 2002.  They married on June 5th, 2010 in their beautiful back yard in Mortlach, SK.  She took her Truck Driving Course and travelled extensively with Glen in the Semi.  She was very involved in her Mortlach community, from getting the Holiday Train to stop in Mortlach for 4 years, to working at the Annual Saskatoon Berry Festival, etc.  Rose had lots of close friends.  She loved to cook and bake, hosting numerous dinners in their house, as well as their yearly Garden Party.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Rose looked great in Red!  The entire family thanks Rose’s friend and caregiver, Christi Adams and close friend, Janice Caven for the special care and support given to our beloved Rose.  Thanks to Dr. M. Zarkovic, Nurse Paula and the entire team at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre in Regina for their treatment and care of Rose over the last 4 years, Dr. M. Hoe in Saskatoon, as well as the Moose Jaw Palliative Care Team and Home Care for their assistance with care in the last month.  A Celebration of Rose’s Life will be held on Monday, July 22nd, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s name may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1 or The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  James Murdock, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
