Patricia Doreen Ward (née: Nash) aged 79 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 with her three children and youngest granddaughter by her side. She was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) Ward; parents, Lillian and Arthur Nash; brothers, Alfred Nash and Don Nash; sister-in-law, Mabel Nash; and brothers-in-law, Mathew Weselak and Ken Ward. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cheryl (Len) Ward and Brenda (Cory) Kerr; son, Steve Ward; grandchildren: Kristen Ward, Kimberly (Mason) Ward, Liam Kerr, Bryden Kerr, and Jocelyn Kerr; great-grandchildren: Ashton, Paisley, and William Ward; sister, Lillian Weselak; brother, Arthur (Joyce) Nash; brothers-in-law, Gerry (Denise) Ward and Dave Ward; sister-in-law, Pat Ward; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Patricia was born on February 2nd, 1944 at the Central Butte Hospital. She was the youngest of five children and had many cherished memories growing up on the family farm near Eyebrow, SK. She attended Winfield and Eyebrow schools, then entered Teachers College in Regina, SK at age 17. Patricia’s teaching career started in Assiniboia, SK. She spoke fondly of living in a boarding house with other teachers and nurses where she made many lasting friendships.
While visiting her brother Don in Moose Jaw, Patricia met her future husband, Bill. They were married in 1966 and had three children: Cheryl, Steve, and Brenda, and she stayed at home to dedicate her time to her family. When her youngest was 12 years old, Patricia returned to teaching in Moose Jaw. She was also very busy working in the family business – Ward’s Transfer & Storage.
Patricia’s family was her greatest joy. She was known for making everyone feel welcome and for her wonderful laughter that filled any gathering. She will be dearly missed.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 30th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home. Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and interment will take place in Rosedale Cemetery.
