WADSWORTH

Edward James Wadsworth aged 62 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024. Ed was born on June 22, 1962, and was a life-long resident of Moose Jaw. He attended William Grayson Public School and Central Collegiate High School.

In his early teens, Ed swam with the Flying Fins and participated in football and gymnastics at Central Collegiate. After graduating from high school, at the age of 18, Ed joined the CP Rail and worked there for 31 years. Ed had suffered from a heart attack which was followed by a 6-way bypass at the age of 49. He also developed diabetes and lung issues. None of this really slowed him down though. He was an avid motorcyclist and was well known in the broader bike community across the Western Provinces. His nick names were Eddy Money at the railway and Shovelhead Ed amongst his fellow riders. He loved his old bikes, and it was not a hobby for him, it was a way of life.

Ed was a devoted husband to his wife of over 33 years, Vicki, and a loyal friend to many of his CPR and biker brothers. He was a member of the Moose Jaw Cycle Association for nearly 35 years and enthusiastically looked forward to the annual Toy Run and Swap Meet. He also had close relationships with his Uncle Russ, Aunts Linda and Sandy, and brother-in-law, Kory. During the summers, he lived at his cottage in Crawford Bay, BC, a place he loved and where he felt at peace. You could find him on his huge deck, usually with a beer in hand and a homemade pizza on his plate. Ed was a great cook and made bread from scratch.

He was predeceased by his parents, Bud and Emma Wadsworth; many aunts and uncles; great-aunt, Kay; and mother-in-law, Pat Denham; all of whom loved Ed dearly. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Vicki; sister, Laurie Ann Wadsworth; brother-in-law, Kory Denham; sister-in-law, Shawn Silliker (Kevin) and her children Kelty (Dayton, daughter Maryn) and Brady (Sarah); aunt, Linda Wagner; aunt, Sandra Way; uncle, Russ Wheatley; uncle, Brian Wadsworth (Gerry); aunt, Suezanne Wadsworth; aunt, Joanne Wadsworth; many awesome cousins; and three spoiled cats: Buddy, Simon, and Lucy. He is also survived by many friends from the railway, the MJCA, and the world at large.

A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held on Friday, November 29th, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Celebrant Dave Foley officiating. Ed will be laid to rest at Kootenay Lake next summer. Those not able to attend may view the service by going to www.moosejawfuneralhome.com/webcast/As an expression of sympathy, donations in Ed’s name may be made to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7 or SCRAPS, PO Box 1653, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
