Yvonne Mavis Swanson
Yvonne Mavis Swanson passed away surrounded with love on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. She was born in Tuxford on April 13, 1935, to Norman & Irene Bullivant and raised on the family farm southwest of Keeler. Yvonne and her sister Betty loved playing ball, going to sports days, curling bonspiels, and community dances. Yvonne married Quinton Swanson in November 1952 at St Andrew’s United Church in Moose Jaw. Together for 63 years, they raised 3 children. Busy with cattle, grain, chickens, and huge gardens, Yvonne tirelessly worked making sure her family and the hired men always had meals. Yvonne was well known for her baking and canning. A neighbour always knew a visit would end in tea and a cinnamon bun fresh from the oven! Care packages were sent home to many with a warm heart and loving hands. Yvonne is predeceased by her parents Norman and Irene Bullivant, husband Quinton Swanson, sister Betty Smith, brother-in-law Gerald Smith, and son-in-law Albert West. Yvonne was loved to her last moment by her family Judy West, Wanda (Brent) Jones, Kevin (Kerry) Swanson; grandchildren Russell West, Kerry (Brad) Gray, Blair (Whitney) Jones, Jasmyn Jones (Derrick Wangler), Mandy (Lance) Forbes, Brett Swanson (Sarah Spence); great-grandchildren Kelsee & Sydnee Christmann, Jersey & Remi Jones, Weston & Walker Wangler. A Family Celebration of Yvonne’s Life will be held at the Swanson farm in Keeler on Saturday, August 14, 2021. The family of Yvonne would like to thank Dr. Rodwan and the ICU staff at the Dr. FH Wigmore Regional Hospital for your care and attention. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Stars Air Ambulance and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
