In Loving Memory of
Marian Lenore (Francis) Stewart

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Marian aged 96 years, of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond. Mom leaves behind three daughters and sons- in-law: Nancy & Bruce Goad, Debbie & Dave Richards, Diane Stewart & Greg Shafley. Marian was called Grandma by Johanna (Brad), Tom (Jill), Katie (Matt), Elizabeth (Serge), Stephen (Sara), Jennifer (Chris) and Andrew (Darcy). She lives on in her great grandchildren: Alice, Lauren, Kasper, Benjamin, Liam, and Cameron. Marian grew up on a century farm, along with her brother, Ross, near Exeter, Ontario. After high school, she attended Normal School where she learned the tools to become a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse. Marian and Raymond were married on October 1, 1949. They made their first home in Ottawa, then moved to Sarnia where they lived until August of 2017 when they moved to Moose Jaw. Marian was a stay-at-home Mom who excelled in sewing and cooking. She taught us all how to get along with others, and to be thoughtful and generous. She was also a tremendous volunteer, doing enthusiastic work for Central United Church, UCW, church choir, Child Study Group, IODE, Cancer Society, and the Kiwanis Music Festival. She has, for years, spent countless hours knitting mittens and hats to be put in the Christmas Salvation Army hampers. She enjoyed playing golf and loved playing bridge, so much that she achieved a Life Master status. She and Dad travelled extensively. She had hundreds of souvenir spoons to commemorate all their adventures together. Mom had many friends and adored our Dad and us. She often told us how proud she was of us and our accomplishments. She was also a good sport about being teased by her sons-in-law. She was spirited, thoughtful, and generous and will leave a big hole in our lives.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Chez Nous who gave mom so much help, kindness, and love. And ice cream.

A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 5th at 11:00 am at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St W., Moose Jaw. Della Ferguson will officiate. In Lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Moose Jaw Salvation Army or Moose Jaw Food Bank.

In living memory of Marian, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries). Chrystine Dacey - Funeral Director
