It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert Martin Staniowski announces his passing on Friday, April 26th, 2024, at the age of 65 years, with his family by his side.

He was predeceased by his father, Ziggy; mother, Heidi; brother, Les; nephew, Greg; and niece, Amy. Rob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Angela; children: Kevin (Krystal), Adam (Amie), Robin (Alex), and Tyler; brother, Ed (Gillian); sister, Steff (Jerry); and grandsons: Kove, Chayse, Zander, Henry, and Liam.

Rob was born and raised in Moose Jaw and in 1979, married his high school sweetheart, Angela. Together they raised four beautiful children. Rob’s career began in the car business in the late 70s and continued until his passing. He loved everything about selling cars, but also had a passion to inspire and teach those who were just beginning their career. Rob also had a passion for community; he served in the reserve unit of the Saskatchewan Dragoons as a tank gunner. He also volunteered for 22 years as an Auxiliary RCMP member – receiving the Peace Officer Exemplary Service medal. When the auxiliary program ended, Rob joined the Caronport Fire and Rescue team. During his 5 years of service, he had the honour of receiving the Firefighter of the Year award in December 2023, and was promoted to Lieutenant before his passing.

Rob loved to serve, whether it was plowing the snow at the church parking lot, extending help and love to the homeless community, or just lending an ear to someone in need. Rob was always eager to be of service and to help his fellow man.

Rob had a love of travel and he and Angela travelled extensively, Hawaii being his favourite destination.

Rob cherished his family. He was a profoundly devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was deeply rooted in his faith – an unshakable faith. Rob loved the Lord; it was where he found his strength. He loved to worship and glorify the name of Jesus. What a comfort to know he is safely home in the Father’s arms.

Rob, your beautiful smile and cheery disposition will be so missed by all who loved you.

The family wishes to thank those who upheld us in prayer, the palliative care team, and the passionate, amazing team on the North Medical Floor, Room 221.  We are forever grateful.

A Celebration of Rob’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hillcrest Apostolic Church, 1550 Main St N, Moose Jaw, SK with Pastor Steve Atkins officiating. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Rob’s name may be made to Joe’s Place, 402 Main St N, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 3K2. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
