Kenneth Roy Seager

Kenneth Roy Seager (June 21, 1925-April 4, 2020) passed away peacefully at Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Ken’s sister, Jean said, “He grew up loving to fix things and working with his hands. Ken loved to read history books as a kid, in fact, he once got in trouble for reading too much at school. Ken was a good kid; he never got into trouble.” He moved to Regina, SK as a teenager and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on September 1946. Later joining the Royal Canadian Navy which he highly preferred, ending his service on April 6, 1954. Ken served in Theatre in the Korean War. He took his training in Electrical and worked with the sonar on the ship. After his military service, Ken taught and worked at Sun Electric and was a strong member of the Electrical Union. He was a mentor to many men (in many places) for years and was liked by all. Ken also had experience working in mines, power plants, and in large construction, which kept him out on the road. He lived in Regina, SK; Alberta; Coronach, SK; and eventually settled in Moose Jaw, SK, when he married Nata in 1999. Six years ago, Nata and Ken moved into the Bentley, where they made many new friends. Ken filled his time riding the Bentley bus with Lana, going to Walmart for a warm place to walk and to people watch. Ken’s love of reading history persisted, and he always kept up with world news. Ken would say, “I don’t want my mind to slip. So, I will keep it active by reading, eating right and enjoying my Sudoku”, which he did right up to his last week. Ken was passionate about eating healthy so that he could stay healthy longer. He wanted to live until 100. Ken and Nata attended the First Baptist Church until their health wouldn’t permit it. They had a strong faith in a God who saves and gives second chances, but also consequences with grace. Ken was a meticulous man and loved organization his whole life. His military background was still evident, you could drop a quarter on his bed, and it would bounce. Ken was a man who never talked negatively about others and always encouraged those around him; he was a very forgiving man. Ken will be missed by his family, friends, the Bentley staff, and all those who knew him. Ken was predeceased by his parents, Bessie and Frank Seager of Truax, SK; his partner, Nora Cronin from Coronach SK; and his wife, Nata Seager (nee Schafer) in 2017. Ken is survived by his only son, Alan Frank (Deanna) Seager; his granddaughter, Ashley Seager (Taylor Lazoruk); his three great-grandchildren; his one grandson, Logan Seager; his sister, Jean (Dale) Farrtheringham; his nephews, Rodney Farrtheringham and Scott Farrtheringham; Nata’s three children and many grandchildren; his church family; and many friends and support workers. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Kinsman Tele-Miracle. In living memory of Ken, a memorial planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
