Robert Schouten passed away peacefully on April 11, 2022. He was born in Regina in 1942. At a young age, Robert had built a strong work ethics as he had many jobs, some may say he was a jack of all trades. Robert married Barbara Ratzlaff in 1961. Robert had a successful career at the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, as the District Maintenance Manager. From there, Robert and Barbara retired in Kelowna, BC where he enjoyed his days fishing, hunting, and lending a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Robert was an active member of the Oceola Fish and Game Club, he enjoyed spending his time mentoring others in hunting, fishing, and shooting. Robert's involvement in the Club included the Youth Programs, a group very dear to his heart. Robert was predeceased by his mother, Hazel Thurlow in 1989, his wife, Barbara Schouten in 2012, and mother-in-law, Anne Ratzlaff in 2015. Robert leaves many friends and family to cherish his memories. Memorial donation can be made to Oceola Fish and Game Club 11888 McGowan Rd, Lake Country, BC V4V 1J2. In keeping with Robert’s wishes, no service will be held. A Private family interment will take place at a later date in Naramata, BC.
