Donna Faye Schoffer ( nee Mackey )

May 7, 1952 – September 15, 2023

Our family is saddened to announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Donna. Donna passed peacefully at home, with her loving children and family at her bedside. She passed after a brief battle with cancer, with dignity and respect, through the M.A.I.D. program.

Donna leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter Casey Schoffer (Ben Chantlier), and son Tyler Schoffer (Alicia Weber and her daughter Maecy), along with her three grandchildren Colby, Caden and Connor. Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Shirley Markell (Murray), Ken Mackey and Barb Mackey, brother-in-law Carey Schoffer, sister-in-law Linda Schoffer, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Donna left her home in Moose Jaw at a young age to follow her adventurous spirit. She lived in Vancouver for 10 years, mostly working at BC Telephones. She returned to live in Saskatchewan, where she re-connected with her life partner, Les Schoffer. Donna and Lee were married for 25 years, until his untimely passing in 2010.

The bulk of Donna’s career was at SaskTel in Saskatoon, where she retired from after thirty years. She always enjoyed her work and the people who she worked with.

Donna forged many life-long friendships. Those who knew her recognized the special spark and love of life that she had.

In the later years, Donna enjoyed many winter trips to Mexico, Arizona and Vancouver. She also enjoyed caring for her yard; the sunshine; and she loved taking summer trips to the lakes. She will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Eagles Club in Moose Jaw on October 29th, 2023 at 2 pm. A private family internment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of tributes, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
