Marjorie (Marj) Jean Ross of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, February 4th, 2023 at the Craik District and Health Centre Care Home, at the age of 83 years.

Marj was born on March 18th, 1939 in Regina, SK. She grew up with her parents, Alex and Florence (née: Auda) Mitchell in Milestone, SK, where they ran a general grocery store. She briefly worked as a Dental Hygienist in a Dentist office in Regina and then in Moose Jaw. Marj met the love of her life and ‘best friend’ Ramsay Ross. They were married on March 18th, 1961. This is when her journey began as a stay-at-home mom, in which she took great pride and devoted all of her time to raising her family.

Marj loved socializing, dancing, reading, travelling and yes…watching TV. She especially loved the family camping trips with the travel trailer in the earlier days. In later years, she enjoyed her RVing trips with Ramsay and spending the winters in Mesa, AZ with close friends. Marj possessed a strong inner strength and positive attitude which allowed her to handle and accept life’s events with grace, without complaining. She lived a full and active life up until the last 2 months.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ramsay Ross (2018); mother, Florence Jean Mitchell (née Bradley); father, Alex Mitchell; and brothers, Brad and Gord (Barb). Marj is survived by her three sons: Allan (Linda), Doug, and Terry (Dawn); and grandsons, Deagen and Brett, and their mother Shawna.

Our family would first like to give a heart-felt thank-you to the staff at West Park Crossing where Marj lived for 3 years. We would also like to give a special thank you to all the staff at the Craik long-term care home for the care and compassion Marj was given during her brief stay there.
