RODWELL
It is with great regret and sorrow we announce the passing of Brian George Rodwell after a brave and courageous battle with health issues. Brian passed away peacefully, with his children by his side, on Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK. Brian was born May 19th, 1950, to George and Lil Rodwell.
He was predeceased by his wife, Bev; parents, George and Lil Rodwell; father-in-law, Jim Franks; and nephew, Jamie Spidla. Brian is survived by his son, Jason; daughter, Stacy (Rick); grandsons, Ben and Dillon; brother, Dave (Florence); nephews, Darren and Matthew (Sarah); mother-in-law, Lois Franks; in-laws: Glenda and Tim Arnott, Brenda and Dennis Spidla, Gary and Gloria Franks; as well as lots of other family members, cousins, nephews, nieces, and all their children.
Brian was a real family man his whole life. Brian and Bev were always a team. They spent 53 years supporting each other through good times and bad. They taught us all what it really means to have your partners back.
Brian had many years working at CPR with good friends. He enjoyed being a conductor and an engineer. He worked hard to ensure he was home on the weekends to haul motorbikes and horses all over the province in the summer, and to watch curling all winter. These were all activities that his loved ones enjoyed.
Brian fell ill in 2007. In 2014 he had a double lung transplant. He did not waste a minute of the extra precious time he was given. Bev and Brian drove to every baseball, hockey, water polo, and lacrosse game that was within 200 miles. When they couldn’t be there in person they were watching on live barn. Brian shared his driving skills, fishing knowledge, and the gift of gab with Ben and Dillon. Brian’s grandkids always joked about trying to go out in public with Grandpa. They said a 5-minute stop at the grocery store would easily take an hour because he never failed to stop and chat.
Brian loved working at the funeral home. He always loved music, and he had a strong connection with The Comfort Singers in Moose Jaw. He found happiness with the simple things in life like mowing the lawn and washing his cars. Helping people gave him tremendous joy. His family knew he would be there for anything at anytime.
Brian left a legacy of love and friendship that we all will cherish.
