RITCHIE, Mark Albert
It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Ritchie announce his passing on October 14, 2023, in Moose Jaw, SK at the age of 54.
Mark was born on April 13, 1969, in Sydney, Nova Scotia. He was raised in Vancouver, BC and Saskatoon, SK before settling in Moose Jaw with his family in 2004. Mark’s eldest son William was born in Saskatoon in 2001 and his youngest son Theodore (Theo) was born in Moose Jaw in 2006. Mark was a loving father to his boys and enjoyed hiking, camping, and exploring with them throughout the province. He also took great pride in converting their century-old house into a loving home for his family.
After some time spent in the Canadian Armed Forces reserves and the trucking industry, Mark obtained a diploma in computer system technology and enjoyed a rewarding career with SaskTel.
Mark is predeceased by his father Albert (1990) and daughter Sara (2005). He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Eleanor Ritchie; sons William and Theodore and their mother Christina Hinds; siblings Jackie (Doug), Tanya (Jeff), Erika (Eric), and Kent (Goya); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout Canada. Mark will be remembered by many friends and colleagues in Moose Jaw and Saskatoon.
A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held at W. J. Jones and Son Funeral Home on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 1:30pm, 474 Hochelaga St Moose Jaw, SK. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the John Howard Society 15 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2E9 or the Soul’s Harbour Riverside Mission 40 Manitoba Street East, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0A2.
