With sadness, the family of Christine Rhodel Rasch (née: Petersen) aged 84 years of Moose Jaw, SK, announces her sudden passing on the morning of Sunday, May 5th, 2024, with her family by her side. Christine returned to the love of her life, Lloyd, and her sister was waiting for her as well.

Christine leaves behind her children: Ken, Guy (Lou), and Tina of Moose Jaw, Lynn of Saskatoon, SK, and Tim (Jenn) of Los Angeles, CA; as well as her numerous grandkids and great-grandkids. She remained close to her sister, Red (Ann) of Montreal, QC and her brother, Robert (Bobby) of Toronto, ON.

Christine was born in Montreal and grew up on a farm near Rosemont, QC. She learned many skills and values, whether it was sewing, knitting, or gardening, it became lifelong. Whether she wore patched jeans or snuggled under her handcrafted blankets, her hands were never idle. She had a lifelong love of her garden, whether it was canning her prized tomatoes, or later in life her flower gardens. She found comfort and shelter from the world there. Christine’s later years were spent delving into genealogy as she had a love for family and history.

In keeping with Christine’s wishes, a Private Family Service will be held to honour her legacy of love, kindness, compassion and humility. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Christine’s name may be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada, 20 Eglinton Ave W, Suite 1600, Toronto, ON M4R 1K8 or Free to Be Me Animal Sanctuary, Box 1685, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7.

Be the light…Be the Kindness
