Alexander Stephenson Patterson passed away on January 3, 2022, at Providence Place, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. Alex was predeceased by his parents Jane and John, and his brothers and sisters John, Jean, Emma, Raymond, Wilfred, Lily, Chrissy and Clem. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jennie, and his children Leigh, Paul, Joanne (James Johnson), and James (Jennifer Patterson); his grandchildren Angela (Carson), Brooklyn (Jesse), Jaydon, Asiah, Jaicee, Vienna, and Jaxen, and one sister Hilda (Ray). Alex was born in Wallsend, Newcastle Upon Tyne, England on June 2, 1941.  Alex and his wife Maureen immigrated to Canada in 1964 and three weeks later he started working for CP Rail, retiring in 1993. In 1967 Alex completed the painting and decorating course at STI Moose Jaw, which led to a second career in the construction and renovation area. In 1978 Alex met the love of his life Jennie and they made their home in Moose Jaw.  They married on January 31, 1981, in Scunthorpe, England. Alex and Jennie very much enjoyed travelling, and Disneyland was always a favourite. Their trips included British Columbia to visit his brother Clem, which was always an adventure, as well as Australia, Yosemite and Yellowstone National Parks, Mount Rushmore, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon, and many trips to England to visit family members. His hobbies and interests included sewing, especially mouton mitts, cross-stitching, and needlepoint, playing darts with his friends at the ANA Vets, making lawn furniture and ornaments, and watching hockey. He was a proud supporter of Newcastle United Football Club. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Guardian Grove and Edgar Hall, Providence Place, Moose Jaw for their support and compassion.

A Celebration of Alex’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 1:00 pm in the Lounge at Jones-Parkview Funeral Services, 474 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw, with Della Ferguson officiating. For those wishing to view the service online please click on the following link
