Olive Catherine Nant (nee) Hanson
Olive passed away December 9th, 2023, at Extendicare (Palliative Care) in Moose Jaw at 101 years of age. Olive was born on May 9th, 1922, in Estevan, SK, she is the daughter to Louis Edward Hanson and Salina Ann Hanson. Beloved wife of the late John Earl Nant.
Olive was predeceased by her loving daughter Carol Ann (Fred) Smith; sisters Margaret Whitmore and Lois Wilson. She is survived by her son Edward Earl Nant (Ilona) of Moose Jaw. Olive is survived by her grandchildren Shannon (Mel) Drake, Shawn Nant, Trevor (Leanne) Smith, Julie (Dave) Nykiforuk; seven great-grandchildren; great-great-granddaughter; along with several nieces and nephews.
Olive and Earl spent many years travelling the globe and enjoyed their winters in Arizona. The summers were spent at their home at Buffalo Pound Lake, famously known as Sleepy Hollow.
The family would like to thank the staff at Extendicare for their kind and compassionate care, and Dr. G.B. Van Heerden. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in her memory may be made to Hunger in Moose Jaw and the Moose Jaw Humane Society.
At Olive's request there will not be a funeral service. Cremation has been arranged by Jones Funeral Home. She will join her husband Earl in the columbarium at Rosedale Cemetery where there will be a private family interment at a later date.
