With heavy hearts, the family of Patricia Ann Munroe (Cantelon) announces her peaceful passing on April 6, 2021, at the age of 76 years. Patricia was born in Moose Jaw, SK, September 16, 1944, to parents Albert and Jean Cantelon.  She met and married her husband Stewart on May 19, 1962, and soon the two would become busy parents welcoming Larry (1962) and twins, Richard and Richel (1964).  Stewart was working in Construction at the time; living in a mobile home, Patricia traveled with him to the construction sites where Patricia (with three children under the age of 2) became the camp cook.  After the passing of Stewart’s dad Jack, the family took over and settled on the family homestead in Chamberlain, they welcomed two more sons Robert (1967) and Jason (1973). Growing up in the city, farm life was completely foreign to Patricia, but she was willing to learn and learn she did!  She was a hard worker and took pride in providing for her family; she was soon growing a bounty of crops, which she lovingly picked and processed filling the freezer and root cellar with enough preserves to last the winter, she will always be fondly remembered for her amazing dill pickles!  It was truly a family farm and Patricia learned and worked hard alongside her family raising cows, pigs, chickens and geese. Every harvest, while still overseeing her family’s needs, one could find her late into the night in the grain truck doing her part to get the crop in before the weather turned. Patricia was an amazing cook, she loved holidays and she loved family. She showed this love through the amazing feasts she created, bringing family together whenever she could. She loved her newfound role as grandma and quickly spoiled every new grandchild that came along. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed in her early 50’s with Parkinson’s; life slowly progressed from her being the one that cared for everyone to her being the one that needed constant care. Parkinson’s took the mom we knew years ago; while saying goodbye is never easy, there is comfort in knowing your new wings have eased your suffering. Patricia will be dearly missed by her children Larry (Valerie) of Moose Jaw, SK; Richard of Millet, AB; Richel (Glen Gnazdowsky) of Rothesay, NB; Robert (Teresa) of Mossbank, SK; and Jason (Colette) of Consort, AB; and her brother Doug (Janet Cantelon) of Pilot Butte, SK, and brother-in-law Fred (Darlene Johnson) of Craik, SK. She will be lovingly remembered by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, aunt, and cousins. Patricia will be lovingly reunited with her husband Stewart, grandson Andrew Gnazdowsky, sister Phyllis Johnson, and parents Albert and Jean. The family wishes to thank the staff of Providence Place for their compassionate care of Patricia, especially in this last year -- we thank you for being there, when we could not. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia’s name can be made to Providence Place Foundation Inc. or to Parkinson Canada.
