Sarah “Thelma” Jean Monk
1923-2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Thelma Monk announce her passing Tuesday, March 24, 2020 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan at the age of 97. Thelma was born January 14, 1923 to Earnest and Jeanie Lemmex. She nursed for her entire career here in Moose Jaw, primarily at the Union Hospital. Thelma is predeceased by her parents, Earnest and Jeanie Lemmex; her husband, Alfred Monk; her son, Ken Monk; and her siblings, Britta (Fred) Lovely, and Ian (Helen) Lemmex; and her special, Elaine Thompson. She is survived by her children, Shirley Aiken, Les Monk, and Diane Monk; her one grandchild; her six great-grandchildren; her eight great great grandchildren; and numerous other family members. A Private Graveside Ceremony will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Moose Jaw Humane Society (1755 Stadacona St W, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7). In living memory of Thelma, a memorial planting will be made by Jones - Parkview Funeral Services.
