Patty Lou Michael passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1st, 2024, in Moose Jaw, SK, with her husband Laird at her side, due to complications of pneumonia and polymyositis. She was predeceased by her father, Glenn Welsh and mother, Beth Rimell. Patty is survived by her husband, Laird; son, Ken (Leslie), grandchildren Nona, Domino and Zackery; son, Shawn; sisters, Nancy Welsh and Judy Klyne; brother-in-law, Barrie Michael (Carol); and sister-in-law, Lynne Jones (Jerry).

Patty grew up in Calgary, AB and was a lover of the outdoors. She was an active snow skier, water skier, hiker, canoeist and camper. She trained to be a ski patroller and patrolled COP in Calgary and later Lake Louise ski areas. She loved to share all those activities with her husband, children, family and friends.

Patty worked as an office administrator for much of her career and volunteered for any causes in which she was remotely involved. She worked several years as the President of the Hawkwood Community Association in Calgary until her retirement to become a snowbird in an RV for 10 years, meeting many more friends along the way.

Patty spent the last 3 years of her life in a care home due to her immobility from Polymyositis. Even though she had to wear a mask to assist her breathing, you could still see her eyes twinkle if she were sharing a joke with you or about you. She enjoyed Laird's travels because she got to go electronically to visit friends and relatives. Patty was a remarkable woman whose life touched many.

A Celebration of Patty’s Life will take place in Edmonton, AB in mid June. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
