The family of Dorothy McFadden announce her passing on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023.

Dorothy was born in Mossbank, SK to Catherine and Clarence Hutchinson on March 15th, 1932, with the help of Grandma Ellen Hutchinson. She attended Piety Hill School, Peacock Technical School, and then went on to Teacher’s College. She taught at various schools in the area, the last being Newberry School where she met her future husband, Frank McFadden.

She was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Clarence Hutchinson; brothers, Clarence Jr. and Brian; an infant brother and sister; and husband, Frank (2007). Dorothy is survived by her children: Brenda (Wayne), Sandy (Cassul), Mike (Jean), Linda (Garry), and Tim (Darla; sisters-in-law, Lois and Rose Hutchinson; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy worked at the Moose Jaw Co-op for many years. She belonged to various organizations, including the Newberry Community Club, Lynbrook Ladies and Rebekah Lodge bowling leagues, Rebekah Lodge, Lawn Bowling Club, Duplicate and Friendship Bridge Clubs, and Prairie Hearts Quilt Guild. Dorothy has very fond memories of hand quilting with her group “The Qurazy Quilters” and going on many road trips to play bridge.

A Private Family Service will be held to honour Dorothy.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Dorothy’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Cosmo Centre, 235 3rd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1C9.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.
